K-3 News for December 11,2007

Wednesday, December 19th we will have our Christmas Party. We will have cupcakes and cookies (my treat) and each of the children will receive a gift from me. The children will not exchange gifts. In my experience, it causes more upset than joy. Not everyone gets the gift they want and it is hard for them to understand why they can't keep the gift they brought or have the gift someone else received. The children will still need to bring or buy their lunch for that day.

Please return flashcards and/or folders by this Friday, December 14th. I will keep these here at school over the holidays. If your house is like mine, you don't need anything extra to keep up with over the holidays. For the same reason, I will not send folders home next week.

We still need wipes!! We use these for small spills, after lunch to wipe faces, etc. Please send 2 refill packs. Any brand is fine.

I am sending flashcards home with new words this week. Letters A-H are also included. Remember when reviewing letters, also practice sounds. Vowels have two sounds.

K-3 News for November 27, 2007

Happy Thanksgiving! I hope all of you had a wonderful holiday!

Thanks to all of you who helped with our Thanksgiving Feast! It was delicious and the children seemed to really enjoy it. They all ate very well and many of them even asked for second helpings.

If you have not returned progress reports, please do so asap.

I am working on updating flash cards. I am planning to send them home next week with new words.

We need wipes!! Please send 2 refill packs. I have a box so I just need the refill packs. Any brand is fine.
